    The Roles Please indicate the period of your internship availability in the application Pacific Life Re is hiring actuarial interns across the (Global) Pricing, Corporate Actuarial and Research & Development (R&D) teams. You will be assigned to the team of best fit. Corporate Actuarial Intern The Corporate Actuarial Intern will support a range of actuarial activities across Pacific Life Re. Depending on business needs and team assignments, this may include financial reporting, business analytics, model development, process improvement initiatives, new business implementation, and other actuarial projects. The internship provides an opportunity to gain exposure to various aspects of a global reinsurance business and collaborate with colleagues across different functions, including Finance, Operations, Pricing, Risk Management, and other actuarial teams. During your internship, you may have the opportunity to: Support actuarial analyses, reporting, modelling, and business initiatives across different areas of the organization Assist with the implementation of new business, process enhancements, or actuarial solutions Participate in reporting, planning, forecasting, or monitoring activities Contribute to data analysis, model testing, validation, and documentation efforts Support the development and maintenance of actuarial models, tools, and reporting processes Participate in ad hoc projects and cross-functional initiatives Global Pricing Intern The Global Pricing intern supports the transformation of our reinsurance pricing process across the regions where we operate, leveraging on their curiosity and resourcefulness to improve the effectiveness of our pricing approach and tools across different markets. You will work closely with others in the team to support the creation and delivery of solutions to simplify or streamline various aspects of the pricing process. During your internship, you will have the opportunity to get involved with a variety of activities which can include: Supporting/Conducting deep-dives into the reinsurance pricing process and tools Building prototypes and experimentation to refine solutions Performing data analysis to support solutioning per above, or to produce Management Information (MI) materials Supporting other Global Pricing-led initiatives or tasks where required (e.g. model enhancements, research, methodology review etc.) Pricing Intern The Pricing Intern will support protection pricing activities across various Asian markets, applying strong technical and analytical skills to help deliver sustainable competitive advantage and market-leading insights. You will collaborate with pricing actuaries and other stakeholders to deliver high-quality pricing analysis and support sustainable business growth. During your internship, you will have the opportunity to: Support reinsurance quotations, including actuarial modelling, analysis and preparation of pricing documentation Analyse experience data and external research to support the development and validation of pricing assumptions Contribute to in-force reinsurance treaty reviews, portfolio monitoring and the assessment of emerging experience Enhance pricing models, processes and automation to improve efficiency, consistency and operational risk management Support other ad hoc pricing initiatives and tasks as required Research & Development Intern The R&D Intern will support the Asia Research & Development team in delivering actuarial research and experience analysis across the region. Working alongside actuaries, you will gain exposure to a wide range of projects supporting assumption setting. During your internship, you will have the opportunity to get involved in activities including: Supporting experience analyses for in-force treaties, including data extraction, validation and investigation of mortality, morbidity and lapse experience. Supporting the development and maintenance of demographic and risk assumptions through the analysis of company-specific and external data, helping to inform pricing and business decisions across Asia markets. Assisting in the development and maintenance of the Branch's Terms of Trade through analysis of insurance experience, industry trends and emerging risks. Supporting the development of analytical tools and process automation using technologies such as SQL, Tableau and R to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of actuarial analysis. Qualifications & Experience Undertaking a degree in a relevant subject area: actuarial studies, mathematics, statistics Penultimate year of university degree Strong analytical skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills Experience with Microsoft Excel, SQL, Tableau, R or Python desirable
