Job Title: Additive Manufacturing Intern
Job Summary
The intern will assist the R&D team in Additive Manufacturing projects relating to metal 3D printing, working prototype manufacturing, process optimization and material characterization for semiconductor applications.
Reports to:
Lead Scientist (Additive Manufacturing)
Key Responsibilities
Assist the scientists and engineers on lab set up activities, R&D and part printing works.
Operate and maintain metal additive manufacturing machines, carry out preprocessing activities like powder preparation and loading, machine set-up.
Perform powder and part characterization activities such as particle size analyzing, test coupon cut up, hot mounting and polishing works.
Carry out post-processing activities including inspection, depowdering, cleaning, and support structure removal.
Coordinate with external vendors for secondary processes such as machining and polishing.
Support daily additive manufacturing operations and maintain proper documentation of activities.
Learn and operate multiple equipment platforms while working in a dynamic R&D environment.
Requisite Criteria & Skills
Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or Materials Science.
Knowledge of CAD (SolidWorks or equivalent), additive manufacturing, or manufacturing processes is an advantage.
Hands-on, detail-oriented, and willing to work in a laboratory environment.
Team player with good analytical and problem-solving skills.
