About Performance Labs
Performance Labs is a global leader in the development, manufacturing and supply chain management of premium nutrition and wellness products. We partner with leading brands to bring high-quality products to market in over 40 countries, supporting healthier lives worldwide.
As we scale our global operations, we are investing in AI-driven workflow transformation and this internship sits at the centre of that effort.
The Role
We are seeking a postgraduate student with a Master’s or MBA background who brings structured analytical thinking, research rigour, and a genuine interest in how AI can transform real business operations.
This is not a task-execution role. You will be expected to:
Own the assessment and design of at least one end-to-end AI-enabled workflow improvement
Apply research-grade methodology to ambiguous, real-world operational problems
Present structured findings and recommendations to senior stakeholders
Work independently across teams to identify where automation creates genuine business value
You will work closely with teams across the organisation to map current workflows, identify automation opportunities, design future-state processes, and support implementation — with appropriate human oversight built in throughout.
What You’ll Actually Do
Your work will span three core areas:
1. Workflow Assessment & Business Case Development
Conduct structured assessments of 2–3 business functions to identify automation opportunities
Frame hypotheses, design lightweight evaluations, and document findings in actionable formats
Develop business cases that translate operational pain points into AI-driven solutions
2. AI Workflow Design & Implementation
Design future-state workflows that combine AI automation with human oversight checkpoints
Support the connection of systems, APIs, and data flows needed for reliable AI operation
Prototype or deploy at least one automation during the internship period
Help organise structured and unstructured data so AI tools have the right context to operate
3. Evaluation, Reporting & Stakeholder Communication
Define KPIs and success metrics for each automation initiative
Track performance and iterate based on real outcomes
Produce a structured recommendation report to be presented to senior leadership at close of internship
Example Projects
Depending on business priorities during your internship, you may work on:
• AI-powered lead qualification and enrichment
• Building and organising AI-enabled knowledge bases
• Automation of contract review and intake processes
• Identifying supply chain automation opportunities
• Streamlining onboarding and internal operational workflows
• Human-in-the-loop governance design for AI workflows
What You’ll Walk Away With
Tangible Deliverables
Skills & Exposure
Documented workflow assessment across 2–3 business functions
At least one deployed or prototyped AI automation
Structured recommendation report presented to senior leadership
Real-world portfolio project in AI workflow design
AI agents and workflow automation in an enterprise context
Business process mapping and optimisation
System integrations and operational data flows
Human-in-the-loop AI governance
Workflow KPI design and performance evaluation
Ideal Candidate Profile
This role is designed for a postgraduate student with a Master’s or MBA background, where you have developed systems thinking, research methodology, or advanced technical knowledge beyond undergraduate-level application building.
You Are
Naturally curious about AI, automation and business operations and can articulate why, not just that
Able to bring structured, research-grade thinking to ambiguous problems
Comfortable owning a workstream end-to-end, not just completing assigned tasks
A clear communicator who can translate technical findings for non-technical stakeholders
Someone who has thought seriously about where AI creates value and where it introduces risk
Technical Requirements
Required:
Hands-on experience with automation platform (n8n, Make, Zapier or equivalent)
Comfort working with REST APIs and structured data formats (JSON, CSV)
Familiarity with prompt engineering or LLM-based workflow design
Advantageous:
Experience with agent frameworks, MCP integrations, or multi-step AI pipelines
Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) or serverless environments
Prior work connecting databases, webhooks, or messaging systems in automated workflows
Understanding of data governance or human-in-the-loop design principles
Why This Role Matters
This internship sits at the intersection of AI, operations and global business transformation. You will have direct access to senior operations and technology leadership, and your work will feed into real business decisions — not be shelved after the internship ends.
Performance Labs operates across 40+ countries with complex supply chain, manufacturing and commercial workflows. The automation opportunities are real, the scale is significant, and the impact of getting it right is tangible.
For the right candidate, this is a rare chance to build a credible AI workflow portfolio in a live enterprise environment, while contributing to something that matters.
Interested candidates should submit a CV and a brief note on an automation or AI project they have worked on.
