About AlterCOP
AlterCOP is an inclusive, global, remote alternative to COP, keeping people informed about the happenings of COP in real-time, via a 2 week series of conferences & masterclasses, all without travelling across the world! After two successful editions in 2024 & 2025, AlterCOP is returning to cover both COPs of 2026 (Nature in October, and Climate in November). Originating in Singapore, we will host exclusive events in other countries (Asia, Europe, Middle East, America) organised by our prominent network.
The Role
We're looking for an outstanding and versatile Social Media Manager to jump onboard and help us accelerate our early stage growth and vision. This role is ideal for an out-going and rigorous hustler who is ready to work side by side with all our team on analysis, content creation and ambitious event marketing and outreach. Definitely an “out-of-the-box” role where you have the opportunity to work with an impact-driven team of changemakers for immediate impact through an APAC-wide event with high exposure.
Your responsibilities
Marketing & Outreach Preparation and Before the event:
Refine and execute the Global and Singapore social media and outreach strategies, as we manage the Global brand from Singapore
Be responsible to post on LinkedIn, Instagram and Telegram channel, both for Global posts and Singapore related posts
Refine and execute the PR and Press strategy and deliver it for the Global Brand and Singapore
Prepare all the Impact surveys for all stakeholders and deliver them for Singapore
Design the replays strategy so as to execute it wisely after the event for Singapore
Follow AlterCOP30 Singapore 6 month-after event Survey
Prepare all the 2026 Edition Impact surveys for all stakeholders so as to execute it wisely after the event for Singapore
Design the AlterCOP Post event Report template so as to execute it wisely after the event
Coordination of Marketing strategy with International chapters: brief them on all marketing collaterals (including but not limited to brand kit, marketing strategy..), prepare at least a post per country before their own AlterCOP events, help manage their country social medias if under AlterCOP name
During the Event:
Contribute to the event’s success by ensuring a daily coverage according to the marketing strategy and follow-up,
Execute the PR and Press strategy
Manage Photographer and Videographer in order to ensure quick and reliable photos to post and replays
Send emails to speakers with the photos of their sessions, before or at least the day after their sessions.
Coordination of Marketing strategy with International chapters:obtain their AlterCOP events photos, write at least a post per country during their events
Post-event Management:
Design and Execute the Post Event communications including but not limited to all thank you EDMs, emails, posts….
Deploy the video replays strategy
In coordination with the Event planner, edit an AlterCOP Post event Report
Manage and Deliver the Post COP Event’s marketing coverage, including but not limited to the AlterCOP Post event Report
Help design the Marketing strategy of 2027 for the future edition of AlterCOP including but not limited to Brand Kit, Marketing Strategy Book and Marketing Playbook
Coordination of Marketing strategy with International chapters for post event tasks (photos folders, international pages of AlterCOP POst event report…)
Who we are looking for
Mandatory Experience and Skills
Access to a laptop / computer, and based in Singapore
Passion for Sustainability and Impact
Rigorous and able to work under pressure
Experience in digital tools (Adobe, PPT, G. Slides, Canva) & Google Drive tools
Experience in Social Media Platforms (Instagram, LinkedIn, Telegram)
community management, blog writing or NGO-focused experience
Capacity to work in fluctuating environments and across various teams
Ideal Traits
Currently studying in a recognized university, preferably in Business, Environmental Studies or Marketing
Experiences in academic/personal/professional projects on Marketing strategy, Design & Partnerships
Tenacious, ambitious and self motivated to make a big impact
Eager to Learn; You know you don’t know everything, but that excites you. You ask questions. You seek out opportunities to develop your skills.
Test & Learn Mindset; You’re not afraid to fail and you know it’s where growth comes from
Experiences (personal, volunteering or professional) in Sustainability Advocacy
Internship date
August 2026 - January 2027, with possible extension on February 2027 onwards.

What we offer
Internship Allowance: 1,000 SGD/month
At AlterCOP, we believe in team well-being and flexibility and in treating everyone as partners and not employees and instil the following practices to stay true to our belief:
Flexibility in working model and locations (Hybrid).
We trust the team’s diligence to work towards a common goal.
We are a small core team working with 100+ volunteers. The Core Team works 1 day a week at least from a co-working space. The rest of the week would be mainly Work from Home. Working Hours are Monday to Friday, 9 am to 6 pm, excluding calls with volunteers. Please be prepared to attend calls with volunteers during evenings.
To compensate for the necessary work with volunteers outside working hours, you will have every Friday afternoon free.
Moreover, to compensate for the extra working hours necessary during the AlterCOP conference, you will have a two weeks' holiday during the last two weeks of the year (December festive season holidays).
