Boarding Counsellor [Maternity Cover]

UWCSEA Dover Boarding seeks a Social-Emotional Counsellor (Maternity Cover: 26 October 2026 – 26 February 2027) to support resident students in Grades 8–12. Working collaboratively across the Boarding and Campus Counselling teams, you will deliver evidence-based well-being care for students, families, and staff. Flexible consultation hours run primarily between 11:45am and 7:30pm. Dual line management includes the Director of Residential Life and Head of Counselling. The Day-to-Day Deliver evidence-based individual and small-group counselling using diverse therapeutic practices to support adolescent social, emotional, and psychological well-being. Design and facilitate boarding transition programs, well-being workshops, and online sessions for students, staff, and parents. Collaborate closely with the Student Support Team, participate in weekly wellness meetings, and engage in peer supervision. Serve as a well-being resource for staff and build professional connections with external specialists to facilitate referrals when required. The Details Minimum qualification of a Graduate Diploma in Counselling, Master of Psychology, or Master of Counselling, with at least 3 years of experience counselling adolescents (international or residential school experience preferred). Demonstrated expertise in child protection, safeguarding, crisis management, conflict resolution, and supporting young people from diverse cultural backgrounds. Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills with a collaborative, flexible approach; multilingual capabilities are an advantage.
