Business Analyst Intern: Scope of Responsibilities
The Business Analyst Intern supports the Project Management team throughout the project lifecycle by assisting in business analysis, documentation, project coordination, and testing preparation. The role provides exposure to the end-to-end implementation process, helping ensure project requirements are accurately documented, testing environments are prepared, and project activities remain on track.
Business Analysis & Requirements Gathering
Support Project Managers in gathering, documenting, and analysing business requirements from internal and external stakeholders.
Assist in understanding end-to-end business processes and documenting current ("As-Is") and future ("To-Be") workflows.
Participate in requirement discussions and stakeholder meetings to gain an understanding of business objectives and project scope.
Process Mapping & Gap Analysis
Assist in analysing existing business processes and identifying functional gaps between business requirements and system capabilities.
Support the preparation of process flows, business scenarios, and functional documentation.
Document assumptions, dependencies, risks, and recommended solutions for review by the Project Manager.
Project Documentation
Prepare and maintain functional specifications, meeting minutes, action logs, requirement documents, and project artefacts.
Ensure project documentation remains up to date throughout the implementation lifecycle.
Support documentation required for project governance and client communications.
Creating user guides for release management
UAT Preparation & Environment Readiness
Support Project Managers in preparing User Acceptance Testing (UAT) activities, including test plans, test scenarios, and test data.
Assist in validating that testing environments are configured and ready before UAT begins.
Coordinate with internal teams to ensure users have the necessary system access and configurations for testing.
Monitor testing progress and document testing issues for follow-up.
Project Coordination & Status Tracking
Assist Project Managers in tracking project progress, milestones, risks, issues, and action items.
Follow up with internal teams on outstanding deliverables to ensure project timelines remain on track.
Prepare project status updates and maintain project trackers for internal reporting.
Support meeting coordination by documenting discussions, decisions, and action items.
Cross-functional Collaboration
Work closely with Project Managers, Product, QA, Engineering, and Support teams throughout the implementation lifecycle.
Coordinate with Support to facilitate project handovers and operational readiness before go-live.
Support communication between stakeholders to ensure project requirements and deliverables are clearly understood.
Continuous Learning & Business Understanding
Build a strong understanding of the product, client business processes, and implementation methodology.
Develop business analysis, stakeholder management, documentation, and project coordination skills through active project participation.
Contribute ideas for process improvements and support the team's continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
Currently enrolled in relevant undergraduate / graduate program or recent graduate in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Eagerness to learn and take on new challenges.
Previous experience in project management or related fields is a plus.
Familiarity with project management tools/software is desirable.
Duration
This internship is expected to last 6 months, with the possibility of extension based on performance and availability.
