About this internship
What The Role Is
You will support the Assistant Director (OneNS Product Management) in executing the NS Business Architecture through business process re-engineering, user experience (UX) research, and capability mapping. You work within a multi-stakeholder MINDEF/SAF and DSTA landscape and translate strategic business architecture vision into operational outcomes by facilitating cross-departmental collaboration and applying proven methodologies such as Lean Six Sigma, Design Thinking, or The Open Group Architecture Framework (TOGAF).
What You Will Be Working On
Support business process re-engineering initiatives across diverse NS business processes, including Operations, Training, NS Policy, HR, and IT, to improve operational effectiveness and efficiency
Establish and maintain as-is baseline process documentation, define to-be target process designs grounded in business drivers, and conduct gap analysis to define the re-engineering roadmap
Apply Lean, Six Sigma, or equivalent process improvement techniques to diagnose inefficiencies and design future-state processes that are simpler, faster, and better aligned to strategic objectives
Facilitate co-design workshops with operations and business unit stakeholders to ensure target process designs are operationally grounded and have the buy-in needed for successful adoption
Translate re-engineered processes into product and system requirements for Product Leads
Oversee UX research and usability testing to understand population group profiles and behavioural patterns, informing decision-making and ensuring alignment of solutions with established objectives
Map user journeys for key touchpoints across core population groups to identify pain points and determine aspects of the current user journey that should be retained, modified, or redesigned
Lead change management efforts emerging from business process re-engineering workstreams, ensuring successful adoption of new processes, systems, and operating models across diverse stakeholder groups
Develop change management strategies that address cultural, organisational, and technical barriers to digital transformation, tailoring approaches to different user populations and organisational contexts
