On 22 May 2026, over 200 CDL employees gathered at the CDL AI Learning Symposium at Grand Copthorne Waterfront Hotel Singapore, under the theme “𝙋𝙚𝙤𝙥𝙡𝙚-𝙇𝙚𝙙, 𝘼𝙄-𝙀𝙣𝙖𝙗𝙡𝙚𝙙.”
As AI continues to transform the way we work, the symposium provided employees with direct insights from leadership and deepened their understanding of how AI can be applied meaningfully in their work to improve day-to-day performance.
𝗢𝗽𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗦𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻: 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 𝗣𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲𝘀 𝗼𝗻 𝗔𝗜
The symposium opened with insights from CDL’s leaders, Group Chief Executive Officer, Mr Sherman Kwek, Chief Technology Officer, Mr Ivan Ng, and Head of Human Resources, Mr Alvin Tan Soon Meng IHRP-SP, who highlighted the importance of embracing AI as a strategic enabler for the future.
While CDL has already begun integrating AI into the way we work, our leaders emphasised the need to continuously innovate, adapt, and accelerate AI adoption to unlock greater productivity and value across the organisation.
Even as work continues to evolve, the importance of people remains unchanged. Human judgment, creativity, collaboration, and decision-making continue to be critical in driving meaningful outcomes. As people remain our greatest asset, CDL is committed to strengthening the digital capabilities of its workforce and equipping employees with the skills needed to thrive in an AI-enabled workplace.
𝗛𝗮𝗻𝗱𝘀-𝗼𝗻 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗸𝘀𝗵𝗼𝗽𝘀
Building on these insights, employees participated in hands-on workshops featuring AI tools such as Microsoft Copilot, where they explored practical ways to apply AI in their daily work.
Through guided exercises and real-world use cases, participants learned how AI can help streamline routine tasks and enhance productivity. The workshops also encouraged a shift in mindset, helping employees view AI as a powerful tool that complements human capabilities and enables them to focus on work that requires judgment, creativity, and collaboration.
The symposium reinforced CDL’s commitment to a people-led, AI-enabled organisation. Moving forward, the focus remains on building a workforce that is equipped, adaptable, and ready to thrive in an AI-enabled future.

At the World Cities Summit 2026 yesterday afternoon, CDL led the launch of the Saving Glaciers and Oceans Alliance, building on our ongoing efforts to raise climate awareness and foster international dialogue on polar and ocean conservation.
The launch was marked by a ceremonial pledge undertaken by 35 country representatives, leading non-governmental organisations, as well as representatives from global organisations such as the WBCSD – World Business Council for Sustainable Development and the World Green Building Council, to affirm their commitment to strengthening collaborative action across sectors and borders in the protection of glaciers and oceans.
Ms Esther An, CDL’s Chief Sustainability Officer, said, "The scale and speed of glacier melt, which together with global warming contributes to sea-level rise, demands urgent collaborative action. As a built environment leader, CDL is committed to accelerating climate action and mitigating our industry’s environmental impact. Through the Saving Glaciers and Oceans Alliance, we aim to bring together public, private and people sectors to accelerate meaningful solutions for two ecosystems that are fundamental to the health of our planet. We believe that sustainability is not achieved by any one organisation acting alone – it requires partnerships, innovation and a shared commitment to creating a more resilient future for all."
