Computer Vision AI Engineer Intern

Company Overview Sigmawave AI is a visual synthetic data company helping organisations build better computer vision and AI systems. We provide configurable, high-quality synthetic datasets that support model training, testing, and validation, and we build real-world video intelligence systems that run on live cameras at customer sites. About the Role We are looking for a Computer Vision AI Engineer Intern who wants to learn how vision models go from training to working on real cameras in the real world. You will support our senior engineers on model development, and you will also get hands-on experience helping set up and fine-tune systems at customer sites, something most interns never get to see. We do not expect you to arrive with production experience. We are looking for curiosity, solid fundamentals, a willingness to ask questions and dig into problems, and the discipline to follow careful procedures when working with sensitive data on-site. Responsibilities Model Development • Help train and improve computer vision models (object detection, tracking) using PyTorch. • Help prepare and clean datasets, including a mix of real and synthetic images. • Learn to measure how well a model performs and help spot patterns in its mistakes. On-Site Deployment Support (Re-ID) • Travel to customer sites in Singapore to help set up and fine-tune camera-based tracking and recognition systems. • Help calibrate cameras and check that the system correctly recognises the same person across multiple cameras. • Support testing and adjusting the system so it performs well for that specific site. • Follow strict data-handling and confidentiality rules, footage and training data may not leave the site without authorisation. • Help document how each site is set up, so systems stay easy to maintain after handover. Learning & Support • Help test and prepare models to run efficiently on the hardware they will be deployed on. • Take notes, ask questions, and document what you learn. • Work closely with other engineers and teams, and share what you find. Required Qualifications • Studying or recently completed a degree or diploma in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field. • Basic understanding of how computer vision and deep learning work. • Some hands-on experience with Python (PyTorch a plus). • Comfortable learning new tools quickly; some experience with Git. • Willing to work on-site at secured facilities in Singapore and to follow strict confidentiality and data-handling rules. • Careful, honest about results, and willing to dig into a problem independently. Preferred (Nice to Have) Any of the following is a bonus — not required. We are happy to teach these on the job: • Experience tracking or re-identifying people/objects across multiple cameras. • Exposure to camera calibration or 3D geometry. • Familiarity with NVIDIA tools (e.g. TensorRT, Jetson). • Basic Docker or C++.
