Internship Details •Position: Data Engineer Intern •Location: Singapore •Duration: 6 months Role Overview We are looking for a Data Engineer Intern to join our Data & AI team and help build the data pipelines and platforms that power AI-driven healthcare automation across Asia-Pacific. This is not a shadowing role. You will own real deliverables on live systems — pipelines that move production healthcare data, datasets that feed our AI models, and monitoring that our operations teams rely on — with close mentorship from senior data engineers. You will work alongside one of Southeast Asia’s leading AI teams, applying modern data engineering practices and LLM technologies to complex, real-world healthcare problems at scale. What You Will Do •Build and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines under the guidance of senior engineers •Help integrate data from multiple sources (Claims, Member Data, Finance, APIs, Applications, CMS) •Write and optimize SQL queries and assist with data modeling for analytics and AI use cases •Work hands-on with Azure Data Services (Blob Storage, Data Lake, Azure SQL, Data Factory) •Implement data quality checks, validation rules, and logging mechanisms •Prepare and clean structured and semi-structured datasets to support AI model development •Assist in building dashboards and reports for operations monitoring •Document pipelines, data flows, and technical decisions What You Will Learn •Production-grade data engineering on a regional, multi-country healthcare data platform •How AI and LLM systems are actually built, deployed, and operated in an enterprise environment •Cloud data architecture on Azure, orchestration tooling, and data observability practices •Data governance, PDPA compliance, and cross-border data handling in a regulated industry •Engineering discipline: version control, code review, testing, and structured AI-assisted development Requirements •Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Statistics, or a related field •Working knowledge of Python and SQL (coursework, personal projects, or prior internships all count) •Basic understanding of relational databases and data modeling concepts •Familiarity with Git and general software engineering practices •Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and willingness to ask questions •Good written and verbal communication in English; able to work with teammates across Singapore, Vietnam, and the Philippines By submitting your application, you grant consent to Fullerton Health and affiliates to utilize your information to assess job suitability and be considered for other suitable positions.
