About this internship
What The Role Is
MINDEF is developing a suite of GenAI solutions to transform how procurement work is carried out across MINDEF/the Singapore Armed Forces (SAF). These include solutions that support users in drafting requirement specifications, evaluating quotations and tenders, and assessing price reasonableness.
The next phase will focus on developing GenAI solutions for other identified procurement processes, including the generation of sourcing documents. You will work alongside a team to develop a minimum viable product (MVP), configure the relevant AI workflows, and test and refine the solution based on the intended requirements.
What You Will Be Working On
You will also have opportunities to support the enhancement and testing of existing GenAI solutions. This may include developing and executing test cases, evaluating AI outputs, troubleshooting issues, and implementing improvements based on test results and user feedback. Where appropriate, you may also support beta testing with users. As the suite of GenAI solutions expands, you will explore how the different solutions could be linked using an AI orchestration tool to provide users with a more seamless, end-to-end AI-enabled procurement experience.
Throughout the project, you will gain hands-on experience across different stages of the AI solution lifecycle, from development and configuration to testing, user validation and exploration of integration, while contributing to the application of GenAI to real-world procurement processes in the public sector.
You will deliver a minimum viable product (MVP) of a GenAI solution for an identified procurement process. The deliverables will cover the following:
MVP Development – develop and configure a functional GenAI solution to support the generation of sourcing documents
Testing and Refinement – develop and execute test cases, evaluate AI outputs, troubleshoot issues and refine the solution based on test results and, where applicable, user feedback
Enhancement of Existing Solutions – support the testing and refinement of the existing GenAI solutions, where required
Exploration of End-to-End Integration – explore how the different GenAI solutions could be linked using available AI orchestration tools to support a more seamless, end-to-end AI-enabled procurement workflow
