About Our Group The Global Factory Information Technologies (GFIT) team at Seagate. Our mission is to drive digital transformation across Seagate's global manufacturing operations through data-driven solutions, intelligent automation, and advanced analytics. As part of our Smart Factory initiatives, we are developing AI-powered solutions that leverage Computer Vision, Video Analytics, Generative AI, and Workflow Automation to improve operational efficiency, compliance monitoring, and decision-making across manufacturing sites worldwide. About The Role - You Will As a GFIT Intern, you will work alongside Data Scientists, AI Engineers, and Software Developers on real-world projects that explore and develop innovative AI and Generative AI applications for smart manufacturing. You will: Design and prototype AI and Generative AI solutions for manufacturing use cases.Develop AI-powered tools for automated report generation, anomaly explanation, and knowledge management. Assist in building, training, evaluating, and optimizing machine learning and computer vision models. Explore the use of Large Language Models (LLMs) and Generative AI frameworks to enhance manufacturing operations and decision-making. Develop and test integrations between AI solutions and factory systems. Support the implementation of Generative AI capabilities within manufacturing and factory control environments. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for AI-driven process improvements. Participate in the development and evaluation of proof-of-concept solutions that contribute to Seagate’s smart factory roadmap. Contribute to the development of Agentic AI solutions, including autonomous and multi-agent systems that can plan, reason, make decisions, and execute tasks across manufacturing processes. About You We’re looking for someone who is: Passionate about AI, software engineering, and solving real-world industrial challenges. Curious, innovative, and eager to learn emerging technologies. A strong problem solver with analytical thinking skills. Comfortable working both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Effective at communicating ideas and working with cross-functional teams. Adaptable and willing to take on new challenges and responsibilities. Your Experience Includes Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, or a related field. Familiarity with AI agent frameworks such as LangGraph, AutoGen, CrewAI, Semantic Kernel, or similar technologies is an advantage. Python programming. Familiarity with Generative AI frameworks and tools. Knowledge of machine learning and deep learning concepts. Understanding of natural language processing (NLP). Exposure to Large Language Models (LLMs). Familiarity with computer vision concepts and applications. Experience with software development and system integration concepts is an advantage. Location: Our Woodlands site is one of the largest electronics manufacturing sites in Singapore, housing our recording media operations. Spread over three sites, it is easily accessible via bus or from the MRT Station, with many employees taking mass transportation to work.
