Global Markets Risk and Compliance Intern
Internship Period: 11 January 2027 – 30 June 2027
Job Description
The intern will support the Global Markets Risk and Compliance Desk for a five-month placement by assisting with compliance controls, monitoring activities, documentation, reporting, training coordination and ad hoc projects within the Global Markets Division.
Assist with stakeholder coordination by maintaining timely communication with relevant internal stakeholders within MUFG, under the guidance of the Desk Head or assigned team members.
Support coordination with local and regional Compliance teams, where required, to assist with compliance reporting for the department.
Support the business lines and Compliance team in identifying training needs, coordinating training logistics and maintaining related records where required.
Support the implementation of risk and compliance controls in accordance with applicable compliance policies and frameworks.
Assist with routine monitoring and surveillance activities and promptly escalate any identified irregularities to the appropriate team members for review.
Assist in executing regulatory compliance management procedures and escalate identified deviations in accordance with internal protocols.
Maintain accurate documentation of compliance-related policies, procedures, activities, control evidence and reports as required.
Assist in identifying process improvement opportunities and support the implementation of agreed enhancements.
Support internal and external audits for AGMD Singapore by preparing, organizing and maintaining documentation as required.
Undertake other assignments or projects allocated by the Desk Head or designated team members.
Assist in coordinating responses to compliance queries and regulatory queries, including gathering information and tracking follow-up actions.
Support the team in helping AGMD staff adhere to applicable MUFG policies, procedures and guidelines.
Job Requirements
Preferable background in Finance, Banking or Business-related studies.
Interest in Global Markets business, regulatory compliance, governance, risk management and control.
Strong attention to details for monitoring, documentation, control evidence and control support
Basic analytical skills to organize information, identify inconsistencies and escalate issues promptly
Technical proficiency in Microsoft 365.
Good Communication and coordination skills for working with internal stakeholders and following up with action items
Willingness to learn and work under guidance in a team environment
