Internship for Corporate & Institutional Banking
Candidate will be exposed to the functions of Corporate & institutional banking and learning opportunities in the Banking industry.
Job Content
The Overall of view of responsibilities and guidance are:
Candidate will learn the technicalities of secured/unsecured lending and banking facilities offered such as Bilateral trade finance, Syndicated loans etc.
Candidate will be provided training/guidance on the Bank’s KYC/CDD (Know Your Customer/Customer Due Diligence) processes and thereafter are expected to assist in the KYC/CDD onboarding processes for new clients and annual reviews.
Candidate needs to be able to demonstrate modern day banking theory learnt in school (including corporate finance and banking regulations such as MAS 626 guidelines).
Candidate needs to be able to read/understand financial statements of clients and enter them into the Bank’s systems and provide brief analysis of financial performance.
Assist in tracking end to end transaction flow of trades such as monitoring and matching LCs, IMB, TR and price checks, at the same time monitoring any potential risk.
Opportunities & Exposure
Candidates will be given the opportunities to assist RM/ARM in assessing and evaluating the credit worthiness of an individual and/or company from a borrower perspective.
Access to Bloomberg terminals will be given to assist RM/ARM on short write up of economic outlook, trend of commodities prices and transaction monitoring.
Candidate will also be exposed to upstream/downstream departments such as Treasury, Compliance, Risk functions as well.
Projects:
Mini projects will be assigned to candidates, e.g., to streamline the KYC/CDD processes of the Bank.
Job Requirements
Job Knowledge
Knowledge of the banking sector and MAS 626 notices will be a bonus.

Good verbal & written skills to collaborate with stakeholders & cross functional teams
Positive attitude, and able to demonstrate keenness in acquiring new knowledge and able to work under short turnaround time.
Motivated and independent with minimal supervision
Ability to analyse and research information
Education and/or professional qualification
Currently pursuing at least a Bachelor's Degree in Business Studies/Administration/Banking & Finance/Management or equivalent.
Prior internship experience within the Banking or Financial Services Industry is highly desirable.
Candidate must be able to commit to the Internship period of 4 to 6 months
