Intern (Catering Sales & Festive Business)

JOB SUMMARY The Intern will learn and provide support in managing and processing online orders received through multiple online ordering and delivery platforms, including TikTok, Shopee, Klook, Grab and Oddle, with a focus on the arrangement of delivery and customer collection of festive items. The intern will gain hands-on exposure to order processing, documentation, and customer service within a fast-paced retail and hospitality environment, particularly during peak festive periods. As part of this internship, the intern will also receive training in catering sales, gaining exposure to event sales processes for the Hotel's ballrooms and event spaces, providing a well-rounded introduction to both operational and sales functions within the Hotel. RESPONSIBILITY Online Order Management & Documentation Monitor and process incoming online orders from multiple ordering platforms, including TikTok, Shopee, Klook, Grab and Oddle. Verify order details including customer information, payment status, delivery or collection time, and special requests. Ensure orders are accurately entered into the POS system, and monitor order status to ensure timely completion. Print customer collection orders and prepare all required documents for order collection. Organize order documents according to collection times and maintain accurate filing of completed orders. Ensure documentation complies with company procedures. Customer Collection, Service & Coordination Verify customer identity during order collection and ensure customers receive the correct items. Confirm all orders are complete before handover, and provide professional and friendly customer service. Respond professionally to customer enquiries across all platforms and resolve order-related issues. Handle customer complaints calmly and effectively to ensure a positive customer experience. Update order platforms with any changes, and liaise with team members regarding order status. Coordinate with delivery partners and customer service teams regarding customer requests when necessary. Catering Sales Exposure & Training Receive training and hands-on exposure to catering sales (event sales) processes for the Hotel's ballrooms and event spaces. Learn to handle enquiries for event space bookings and assist in preparing proposals and quotations. Support the Catering Sales team in client correspondence, follow-ups, and site inspections. Gain understanding of event space capacities, setups, packages, and pricing structures. Assist in coordinating between the Catering Sales and Operations teams for event execution. Operational Support & Record Keeping Assist with daily operational duties as assigned. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area, and follow company SOPs and food safety standards. Maintain accurate daily order records, and file refund and cancellation documents. Prepare operational reports when required, and ensure confidentiality of customer information. Maintain organized documentation for audits. Perform other duties assigned by management. Education: Diploma/Degree student in Hospitality, Business, Tourism, or related field Skills: Comfortable with POS/order systems and basic MS Office; good attention to detail and organization Traits: Strong communication, customer-service mindset, able to multi-task under pressure Interest: Openness to learning catering/event sales basics (client correspondence, proposals)
