About this internship
[What the role is]
Through this hands-on experience, interns will gain practical exposure to how data supports decision-making and operational excellence in a government environment. You will work with cross-functional teams to support data reconciliation, analytics, and business intelligence initiatives, contributing to SLA's data and digital transformation efforts.
[What you will be working on]
Data Reconciliation & Quality
Support the reconciliation of datasets across systems and sources to ensure consistency and accuracy.
Assist in identifying and investigating data discrepancies and document findings and resolutions.
Contribute to data quality checks and help flag and document issues to support governance and accountability purposes.
Data Analytics & Insights
Assist in analysing datasets to surface trends, patterns, and insights that support business and operational decisions.
Support the preparation of data outputs and summaries for use by internal stakeholders.
Help document analytical approaches, assumptions, and outcomes in a clear and structured manner.
Business Intelligence & Reporting
Support the development and maintenance of dashboards and reports to meet stakeholder needs.
Assist in translating business requirements into visualisations and BI outputs.
Work with the team to ensure reports are accurate, timely, and accessible to intended users.
Project Coordination & Documentation
Support tracking of tasks, deliverables, and milestones across data and analytics initiatives.
Coordinate inputs across data, business, and technical teams.
Prepare documentation, summaries, and materials for project discussions and updates.
[What we are looking for]
Student pursuing studies in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related fields.
Understanding of how data quality and integrity impact analytical outcomes, with the ability to communicate clearly and document work in a structured manner.
Comfortable working with Python and datasets, and keen to independently explore and pick up new tools and platforms as required by the work.
Curious, proactive, and willing to engage with both technical and business teams, and adaptable to working across multiple workstreams.
Responsible and mindful of data security, governance, and privacy considerations.
Previous coursework, projects, or internships involving data, analytics, or business intelligence are advantageous.
