Project Title
AI-Driven Semiconductor Failure Analysis and Laboratory Digitalisation
Project Description
This internship provides an opportunity to gain hands-on exposure to semiconductor failure analysis methodologies, laboratory automation, and AI-Enabled engineering workflows. The project focuses on leveraging data analytics, digital tools, and Artificial Intelligence to enhance failure analysis efficiency, improve knowledge management, and accelerate engineering decision-making.
The intern will learn how Electrical Failure Analysis and Physical Failure Analysis techniques are used to identify the root causes of product and process issues across memory technologies in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
Objective of the Project
Develop a digital or AI-Enabled solution that improves failure analysis workflow efficiency.
Apply data analytics and visualization tools to enhance laboratory process visibility.
Explore automation opportunities that improve engineering productivity and knowledge accessibility.
Develop an understanding of how failure analysis contributes to product quality and manufacturing excellence.

Project Scope
Analyze laboratory operational metrics, turnaround-time trends, and relevant engineering datasets.
Develop dashboards, automation tools, or knowledge-management solutions for selected failure analysis workflows.
Explore Micron-qualified Artificial Intelligence, Generative AI, and AI Assistant tools for knowledge retrieval, reporting, and workflow efficiency.
Collaborate with Test Engineering stakeholders to understand failure analysis requirements and validate proposed solutions.
Learning Opportunities
Learn about semiconductor device structures, packaging technologies, and memory manufacturing processes.
Gain exposure to Electrical Failure Analysis and Physical Failure Analysis techniques used in root-cause investigations.
Apply data analytics and visualization tools to laboratory operational metrics and engineering datasets.
Explore automation technologies using Python, Power Automate, Microsoft Copilot, or other Micron-qualified digital tools.

Skillsets Required
Basic programming knowledge in Python, Structured Query Language, or a similar language.
Familiarity with data analytics, data visualization, automation tools, or workflow development.
Interest in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Generative AI, and AI-Enabled engineering applications.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
Familiarity with Microsoft Copilot and workflow platforms is advantageous.
Course of Interest
The ideal candidate should be pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field of study.
Duration of Period
The ideal candidate should be able to commit to a full time internship period of 5 months from Jan to Jun 2027.
