Organisation Overview:
The Singapore National Stroke Association (SNSA) supports stroke survivors and caregivers through interventions, peer support, and community resources. Since 1996, we’ve offered counselling, befriending, and a Stroke Resource Centre, empowering recovery, independence, and social connection. Working with healthcare partners and volunteers, SNSA fosters inclusive, age-friendly communities where survivors and caregivers can thrive.
Brief Description:
We are looking for a proactive and empathetic Intern, Programmes & Befriender Management eager to gain hands-on experience in planning and delivering meaningful activities for stroke survivors and caregivers. This internship offers a chance to contribute directly to a cause and make a tangible impact in their lives.

Cycle 15 Start Date: Between 21 September to 12 October 2026, for a minimum period 5-6 months
Open to students from ITE, Polytechnic, Autonomous University, or other educational
institutions (including private and overseas institutions) or currently in transition (e.g. waiting for University admission)
Open for fresh graduates who have not joined the YCCI programme
Roles and Responsibilities:
Support the planning and execution of in-person and virtual programmes for stroke survivors and caregivers, including wellness sessions, workshops, learning journeys and social gatherings
Coordinate event promotion and dissemination across internal teams and members using tools like Canva, Mailchimp, and WhatsApp broadcast
Engage members regularly to gather feedback, understand needs, and contribute to programme improvements
Assist in the development of learning materials and conduct or co-facilitate selected programme activities
Liaise with external partners (corporates, schools, community groups) to coordinate CSR/VIA sessions and partner-led programmes at SNSA
Manage logistics before and during events, including registration, equipment setup, materials prep, and post-programme clean-up
Collate and analyse programme data and participant feedback for impact reporting and continuous improvement
Support general administrative matters related to programme delivery
Learning Objectives and Outcomes:
To gain practical knowledge of end-to-end programme planning in a community-based setting
To develop strong stakeholder management and communication skills across beneficiaries, volunteers, partners, and internal teams
To understand the unique needs of stroke survivors and caregivers through direct engagement and service delivery
To build experience working in a non-profit and contribute meaningfully to a social cause
Duration of Internship:
5-6 months
Daily Working Hours:
Mon-Fri, 9.00am - 6.00pm
Will this internship require weekend work?:
Weekend work may be required depending on operational needs
Note: This internship is part of the
Youth Corps Community Internship (YCCI).
Interns will gain hands-on experience with a community or social sector partner while also participating in Skills Training, Career Explorations, Learning Journeys, and community service. The programme supports youth development through on-the-job training and meaningful contributions to society.
