About this internship
Internal Audit Intern (Part Time preferred)
The purpose of the role is to provide supervised support capacity for the Internal Audit function during FY2026 as we progress SOX/IPO readiness and related governance, ERM, IT/cyber and AI Governance activities. The business rationale is that recurring documentation, evidence collation, workpaper organisation, tracker maintenance and coordination work is expected to increase as internal audits and SOX/IPO readiness develop further.
Key Responsibilities
1. Internal Audit Documentation and Workpaper Support
The intern will support Internal Audit and IT/cyber audit activities by:
Preparing walkthrough notes and documenting process discussions under supervision.
Collating and organizing audit evidence, including maintaining evidence folder indexes and supporting documentation trails.
Organizing workpapers and ensuring documentation is structured, traceable and review ready.
Populating test templates and supporting sample tracking under the Director’s review.
Maintaining follow-up logs for management action plans and remediation status.
Implementing continuous monitoring test plans with automation.
2. SOX / IPO Readiness Support
The intern will support SOX and IPO readiness documentation by:
Maintaining the Risk & Control Matrices and control narrative library.
Tracking control owner sign-off and evidence status.
Updating SOX readiness playbooks and gap trackers.
Maintaining evidence dashboards, sign-off trackers and documentation status logs.
Supporting documentation readiness as SOX evidence volume, Audit Committee reporting cadence and control documentation requirements increase during the IPO/SOX readiness period.
3. ERM and Risk Governance Support
The intern will support Enterprise Risk Management and risk governance activities by:
Updating the risk register based on inputs reviewed or directed by the Director.
Following up with risk owners on status updates and mitigation progress.
Building and refreshing ERM reporting templates and heatmaps.
Maintaining risk owner status logs, mitigation trackers and heatmap drafts for Director review before any management or Audit Committee communication.
Supporting evidence inventory, meeting notes, research support and template population for IT/cyber/AI governance activities, while technical conclusions and specialist judgement remain with qualified reviewers.
