As a Group Tax Advisory Intern, you'll work alongside experienced tax professionals and contribute to tax compliance, governance, and advisory activities across the bank. You'll work closely with tax professionals to support tax reporting, compliance, and advisory activities while collaborating with stakeholders across different functions. Your ability to analyse information, conduct research, and communicate findings effectively will help you contribute meaningfully to the team while building a strong foundation in tax and finance. What You Do Your responsibilities will include: Tax Compliance Support: assist in the preparation of corporate tax schedules, tax computations, and supporting documentation for tax compliance and reporting purposes Tax Return Preparation: support the collection and collation of documents required for tax filings, including Related Party Transaction (RPT) forms and Withholding Tax (WHT) documentation Tax Reporting & Monthly Close: assist in monthly tax closing activities, including the review and analysis of current and deferred tax schedules Process Documentation: support the preparation and maintenance of process maps, operating procedures, and process guides to strengthen governance and operational efficiency Tax Research & Advisory: conduct research, analyse tax issues, and assist in drafting responses to ad-hoc transactional tax queries from stakeholders New Product Approval Process (NPAP): assist in the initial review and documentation of tax considerations for new products and business initiatives Data Analysis & Process Improvement: support initiatives to streamline tax processes and identify opportunities for automation and efficiency improvements Ad-hoc Projects: provide support on tax compliance, governance, and advisory projects as assigned Who You Work With Group Tax Advisory partners businesses and functions across the bank to manage tax risks, ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, and provide guidance on tax implications arising from business activities. Within the Non-FI Subsidiaries & NPAP team, you'll work alongside tax professionals responsible for tax reporting, compliance, governance, and advisory matters. You'll gain valuable exposure to how tax considerations support business decisions and contribute to the bank's overall risk management framework. Who You Are Open to learning and feedback Strong interest in taxation, finance, and the financial services industry Analytical, curious, and detail-oriented Strong research and problem-solving skills Good written and verbal communication skills Comfortable working with data and performing analytical reviews Able to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines Familiarity with Microsoft Excel and data analysis tools Completion of a Taxation module would be advantageous Familiarity with Power BI, Power Query, Excel VBA, or automation tools would be beneficial Currently pursuing an undergraduate or postgraduate degree Learning Objectives This Internship Will Provide You With An understanding of tax laws, regulations, and guidelines applicable to the financial services industry Hands-on experience supporting corporate tax compliance and monthly tax reporting activities Exposure to tax return preparation, withholding tax processes, and related party transaction reporting requirements Opportunities to develop research, analytical, and technical tax skills through real-world business scenarios Experience supporting tax governance, documentation, and process improvement initiatives Exposure to the New Product Approval Process (NPAP) and the tax considerations involved in new business initiatives Opportunities to strengthen communication and professional writing skills through the preparation of tax analyses and stakeholder responses A deeper understanding of how tax compliance, governance, and advisory activities support business operations and risk management within a leading financial institution What We Offer Competitive base salary.
