Scope
New Intern Orientation
Intern will learn about Expeditors and the logistics industry
Intern will gain real field work experience
School credit (if applicable)
Possible offer to a contract / full time position with the company after the internship ends

Acquire state of art logistics know-hows such as electronic data management, shipments processing and document imaging
Our internship program is unique in that it is flexible and focused on the individual which can last from 12 - 16 weeks for Polytechnic students currently residing in Singapore
Based on your faculty of studies, the training may be conducted in one specific or relevant department. We may also assign you to a special project during your internship.
The internship will include an orientation on the overview of the organization, project, field work (if relevant), guided hands-on practices.
If you show yourself to be a cut above the rest, you may be recommended for potential hire upon graduation or at the end of the internship.

Qualifications Requirements
Currently in Polytechnic curriculum
Interns are encouraged to spend at least 12 - 16 weeks with us for a more purposeful experience
Excellent communication skills are a must - spoken and written English skills are required
Good interpersonal skills - ability to communicate effectively and provide excellent customer service to both internal and external customers
Self-motivated with ability to multi-task
Good team player with positive attitude. and at the same time, also ability to work independently
Computer literate and able to operate email
Good organizational skills with attention to detail
Possess a “can do” attitude and pro-active demeanor
Committed to the job and work assignments given.
Have courage to face new challenges
Global geographic knowledge and multi-lingual abilities are always desired
Able to work 40-42 hours per week depending on the department assigned

Goal
Our goal during an internship is to provide training and experience related to each student’s academic course of study and/or career goals. The following criteria defines a successful internship:
The intern is engaged in productive and challenging work rather than merely observing
The student contributes to our company, becomes a member of our team, and learns how his or her academic background can be applied in the workplace.
The amount of hours worked per week can vary based on the academic work load and needs of our business. Hours are flexible – with the assumption during summer/winter breaks more hours would be worked than during the school year. Expeditors requests a commitment to 15 hours of employment per week during the academic school year and 40 during the summer. These numbers would be coordinated on an individual basis.
Working Condition
No more than physical effort or positional stress required. Intermittent walking, sitting or standing with normal expenditure of energy.
Good working condition, almost complete absence of disagreeable elements.
