About this internship
What The Role Is
The Strategic Planning (SP) unit under PSD supports PSD senior management directly in developing the organisation's: (i) strategic priorities and narratives, (ii) business strategies with relevant stakeholders within PSD and across the whole-of-government, and (iii) culture of performance measurement and risk management. As part of the team, you will support the implementation of PSD's strategic planning cycle, engage stakeholders to understand business needs, and build internal processes to support the implementation of our organisational strategies.
What You Will Be Working On
As an intern, you will support SP's work across strategy, analysis, and planning. Some of the key workstreams you will assist with include:
1. Data Analysis and Visualisation
Supporting the implementation and enhancement of PSD's Organisational Scorecard
Developing dashboards, reporting tools and analytics products to support management decision-making
Exploring the use of AI and digital tools to improve planning, reporting and organisational insights
2. Workplan Content and Resource Development
Support the development and refinement of workplan materials for senior management and PSD workplan representatives
Help distil and synthesise key messages for internal communications and presentations
3. Event Planning and Management
Supporting organisation-wide initiatives such as Mid-Year Reviews, leadership retreats, workshops and townhalls
Coordinating administrative and logistical arrangements including catering, materials preparation, and attendee management
Providing on-site support during events
4. Research and Analysis
Conduct research and analysis to support strategic planning and organisational improvement initiatives
Synthesise findings into clear and concise briefs, slides, or reports for senior management

Is able to distil key messages and prioritise effectively
Is proactive, eager to learn, and comfortable working with ambiguity
Is comfortable working with slides and documents, and is willing to explore datasets, AI, and data visualisation tools
