Internship - Tax

Under the guidance of an assigned mentor, the student would gain exposure to the works of the tax team in areas of tax accounting, corporate tax return filings, good and service tax return filings, transfer pricing report, and tax control framework. The student would also undertake projects on workflow automation and process improvement. Your Role Key responsibilities in your new role Tax Data Preparation: Verify, extract and analyse information for the preparation of tax work schedules. GST & Tax Return Filing: Render support in filing quarterly GST returns and annual corporate income tax return to IRAS. GST Compliance Checks: Assist in performing GST health checks and ensure that the company is GST compliant. Transfer Pricing Support: Render support in preparing transfer pricing report for the company and its related entities. Auditor Collaboration: Prepare relevant tax and/or reconciliation schedules for auditors. Process Improvement Projects: Undertake projects on workflow automation and process improvement. Ad-Hoc Support: Render support in ad-hoc duties as needed. Internship Learning Outcomes Financial Statement Analysis: Application and reinforcement of knowledge in analysis of financial statements for tax purposes. Tax Compliance Understanding: Understand the process of corporate tax, GST and/or transfer pricing compliance. Workflow Automation Exposure: Gain exposure to workflow automation and process improvement projects using relevant tools (e.g., KNIME, Tableau, etc.). SAP System Experience: Gain hands-on experience of SAP accounting software. Soft Skills Development: Enhance soft skills such as communication, presentation and time management skills. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Enhance interpersonal relations across departments and management of situation in team settings through problem solving follow-up and resolution of issues. Your Profile Qualifications And Skills To Help You Succeed Educational Background: On track to attaining Diploma / Bachelor / Masters in Accountancy and/or Finance. Personal Attributes: Positive work attitude and willingness to learn. Communication Skills: Effective communication skills. Technical Bonus: Knowledge in SAP / data analytics software is an advantage. Availability Commitment: Able to commit for 5–6 months.
