    About this internship

About The Role Doctor Anywhere is looking for two IT Support Interns to join the internal Security, Platform and IT team. This is a hands-on role supporting employees across the organisation with device setup, hardware handling, and day-to-day technical troubleshooting. It suits a Polytechnic or ITE student who wants practical, real-world exposure to internal IT operations in a fast-paced healthcare technology company. The role involves physical activity, including carrying and moving IT equipment (such as laptops, monitors, and desktop units) and setting up devices at desks or meeting rooms, alongside standard device, network, account, and software troubleshooting tasks. As the role sits within the Security, Platform and IT team, interns will also be introduced to baseline cyber security practices as part of daily operations, such as secure device setup, basic security hygiene checks, and incident escalation. Key Responsibilities Set up and configure laptops, desktops, monitors, and peripherals for new hires and existing staff, including imaging and standard software installation. Carry, move, and position IT equipment between desks, meeting rooms, and floors as part of onboarding, office moves, or equipment swaps. Provide first-line troubleshooting for hardware issues (laptops, printers, peripherals) and escalate unresolved cases to senior IT staff. Assist with basic network troubleshooting, such as Wi-Fi connectivity, LAN/port issues, and printer or shared-device connectivity. Support account-related requests under supervision, such as password resets, access provisioning, and deprovisioning. Troubleshoot common software issues, including installation, updates, and licensing errors. Log, update, and track support requests in the IT ticketing system, following existing SOPs. Maintain accurate records of IT assets, including tagging, inventory checks, and updates to the asset register. Assist in updating internal documentation and knowledge base articles for common IT issues. Support ad-hoc IT projects and office technology needs as assigned by the team. Assist with basic cyber security hygiene checks during device setup and handover, such as confirming antivirus/EDR agents, disk encryption, and OS patches are enabled before a device is issued to a user. Support security awareness efforts, such as reminding users of password hygiene and the process for reporting suspicious emails or activity. Escalate suspected security incidents (e.g., phishing reports, unauthorised access attempts, lost or stolen devices) to the security team promptly and in line with existing SOPs. Assist with maintaining accurate device and access records to support audit and compliance needs. What We Are Looking For Currently pursuing a Diploma at a Polytechnic, or a Nitec / Higher Nitec at ITE, preferably in Information Technology, Info-Communications, Computer Engineering, or a related field. Basic understanding of computer hardware, operating systems (Windows and/or macOS), and general networking concepts. Comfortable with physical tasks, including lifting and carrying IT equipment and moving between work areas or floors. Service-oriented mindset with good communication skills when interacting with staff at all levels. Organised, reliable, and comfortable following documented processes and checklists. Able to work independently on routine tasks and as part of a team on larger projects. Prior exposure to helpdesk or IT support work (internship, attachment, or personal projects) is an advantage, but not required. Basic awareness of cyber security fundamentals (e.g., phishing, password hygiene, malware) is an advantage, but not required. Training will be provided. What You Will Gain Structured, hands-on experience in IT organization within a modern healthcare technology company. Mentorship and guidance from the Security, Platform and IT team. Exposure to enterprise IT tools, ticketing systems, and asset management practices. Foundational exposure to cyber security operations, including endpoint hygiene, awareness practices, and incident escalation. A foundation for a future career in IT support, systems administration, infrastructure, or cyber security.
