Knowledge & Insights Intern

ABOUT US Quantedge Advancement Initiative (QAI) is a privately funded philanthropic organisation established in Singapore. Our mission is to catalyse transformative solutions and collaboratively drive scalable, sustainable change for people and the planet. Our grant-making work across Southeast Asia spans two portfolios: Global Development , focusing on early childhood development and youth employment and livelihoods; and Climate Change Action , focusing on nature-based solutions and sustainable agriculture and livelihoods. THE OPPORTUNITY We are seeking an intern to support our team across a range of grantmaking and organisational priorities. This is a cross-functional role , with a focus on strengthening our knowledge management and Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) work, alongside supporting programme management and other priorities. The intern will contribute to the following areas: Support the review of specific knowledge management processes and the implementation of identified opportunities for improvement; Support efforts to strengthen how QAI tracks and learns from its grants, including synthesising insights across programmes to inform strategy and future grant-making decisions; Support the management of selected programmes in the Global Development portfolio, including monitoring progress and drawing out lessons for future work; Contribute to research, communications, and other needs where relevant. WHO SHOULD APPLY This internship is open to undergraduates entering their penultimate or final year of study, postgraduate students, and recent graduates who completed their studies within the past 12 months. We welcome applications from a range of disciplines, particularly those with backgrounds in: Business, management or organisational studies Data, statistics or other analytical disciplines Social sciences, public policy, international development, economics or related fields Applicants should possess: An interest in MEL practices, and/or organisational effectiveness and process improvement; Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with an ability to synthesise information or complex concepts into actionable insights; Familiarity with data and digital tools, including Google Sheets/Excel, and an ability to interpret dashboards and draw insights; Strong written and verbal communication skills in English; An ability to work independently and as part of a small team; Excellent organisation, time management skills, and attention to detail. Internship commitment (starting January 2027): Full-Time (Preferred) : Minimum of 4 months Part-Time : Minimum 3 days per week, with an extended overall commitment of up to 6 months Applicants must be legally authorised to undertake the internship in Singapore. WHAT YOU WILL LEARN Gain exposure to MEL practices and organisational effectiveness within a philanthropic and grant-making context; Build practical skills in developing MEL frameworks, indicators and data collection/reporting tools; Apply research, analytical and evidence-synthesis skills to inform live programme and organisational decisions; Gain a deeper understanding of the key roles and trends within the philanthropic sector in Southeast Asia. INTERNSHIP STIPEND Interns will be paid a monthly stipend of SGD 1,200 (full-time; pro-rated where relevant).
