About this internship
The Manager/Senior Manager will be involved in providing end-to-end project management services to support the implementation of an urban planning and governance advisory project in India. This includes project planning and coordination, stakeholder engagement, budget and timeline management, risk identification and mitigation, monitoring project progress, preparing report and presentation, and ensuring timely and successful delivery of project outcomes.
In addition, the Manager/Senior Manager will support the Strategic Projects team to develop and foster strategic partnerships, implement capacity building and advisory programs in India, as part of a major initiative to develop a new urban and economic centre. This individual will work closely with government stakeholders, non-governmental organizations, technical experts and private sector entities in both Singapore and India to ensure timely and efficient delivery of outcomes across multiple workstreams.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong track record in project management and developing capacity building and advisory initiatives, particularly within the government/public sector. Strong knowledge of Singapore’s urban and economic development journey, with the ability to distil key lessons and apply relevant principles will be an advantage. They should also have relevant experience in program design and curation, with a proven ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
The successful candidate may also be assigned additional responsibilities, including supporting projects in other markets or across cross-cutting domain/thematic areas.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Project Management

Oversee the implementation of an urban planning and governance advisory project in India. This role will involve project planning and coordination, stakeholder engagement including engagement with consultants and government counterparts, budget and timeline management, risk identification and mitigation, monitoring project progress, preparing report and presentation, and ensuring timely and successful delivery of project outcomes.
2. Capacity Building Programmes
· Understand the stakeholders’ problem statements and objectives, define the scope of the capacity building program, and collaborate with content partners to design a structured curriculum that meets the training objectives.
· Ability to plan, organize, and coordinate various aspects of the training and advisory program, including budget management, resource allocation, scheduling of speakers, meetings, site visits, logistics arrangements such as venue booking, equipment setup, materials preparation, and participant registration.
· Strong interpersonal skills to build rapport with participants and establish a supportive learning environment.
· Evaluate the effectiveness of the training program through assessments, surveys, and feedback mechanisms, and using this information, work with SCE project teams to develop possible downstream projects.
Stakeholder Engagement:
· Liaise with government agencies, consultants and development partners to ensure effective collaboration and alignment of objectives.
· Organize and facilitate regular meetings, workshops, and events to engage partners, stakeholders, and other relevant parties.
Monitoring and Evaluation:
· Regular reporting on the progress and results of partnerships to the leadership of SCE.
· Identify potential risks and challenges associated with partnerships and develop mitigation strategies.
Advisory, Research and Programme Follow-Through
· Conduct research on urban, economic and institutional development policies and best practices, with emphasis on lessons drawn from Singapore’s experience.
· Translate policy insights and international benchmarks into actionable training content and advisory frameworks tailored to partner’s needs.
· Engage with stakeholders to assess the impact of capacity building initiatives and identify opportunities for follow-up advisories or implementation projects
· Support the formulation of long-term partnership roadmaps that link training outcomes with subsequent technical assistance or project implementation.
PREREQUISITES
· Candidates must possess at least a Bachelor’s Degree / Post Graduate Diploma / Professional Degree or equivalent from a recognized institution.
· 3-5 years of working experience in the field of capacity building / partnerships is required for this position
· Positive attitude, meticulous and customer oriented with good multitasking and organizational ability
· Able to build relationships with key partners and stakeholders
· Self-starter with the ability to work autonomously but part of a small team
· Keen interest in international cooperation work and an appreciation of the developmental experience of Singapore
· Strong written and oral communication skills
· Experience in the public sector handling partnerships, capacity building, and international relations experience will be an added advantage.
· Frequent travel to India is required to support projects and engagements.
