About the role
LITEON Singapore is looking for two Mechanical Research Interns to join our Cloud Infrastructure Platform and Solutions (CIPS) Research Team. You will have the opportunity to work alongside senior engineers on innovative research and proof-of-concept projects related to data center, cloud, and AI infrastructure technologies. You will gain hands-on experience in the lab, receive guidance from experienced mentors, and contribute to real engineering projects while building your technical and problem-solving skills.
Key responsibilities
Conduct literature reviews and technical studies on cooling technologies, mechanical and thermal components, and system concepts.
Learn and explore emerging technologies related to data centre and cloud power systems.
Assist in identifying technical challenges, future needs, and market opportunities.
Support the generation and evaluation of multiple design concepts under guidance from senior engineers.
Create mechanical designs and CAD models.
Perform FEA/CFD simulations using tools such as Solidworks, Ansys mechanical, Ansys Fluent, or OpenFOAM to validate concepts.
Support the construction of proof-of-concept hardware prototypes.
Perform lab testing of mechanical and thermal prototypes.
Assist in data acquisition, reduction, analysis and performance evaluation.
Contribute to technical reports, design documentation, and performance summaries.
About you
Currently pursuing a Bachelor's Degree at a local university in Singapore in
Mechanical/Electromechanical Engineering
.
Basic understanding of heat transfer, fluid dynamics and electromechanical fundamentals.
Knowledge of thermal management, structural mechanics, stress, vibration and fatigue and electromagnetic components.
Interest in mechanical drawings, prototyping, supplier assessment and manufacturing mechanics.
Familiarity with FEA or CFD simulation tools (Solidworks, Ansys or similar).
Willingness to learn, strong problem-solving skills, and good communication abilities.
Hands on mindset with enthusiasm for laboratory work and experimentation.
