Mobile Software Engineer Intern

Our product helps sales professionals capture client conversations, generate transcripts, create structured meeting notes, and organize follow-up actions. Our mobile app is the main way users record meetings, review notes, and use Columns during their workday. We are hiring a Mobile Software Engineer Intern to support our engineering team on mobile product development, recording reliability, upload stability, and user experience. This is a paid internship role based in Singapore with a hybrid work arrangement. Responsibilities As a Mobile Software Engineer Intern, you may work on: Building and improving features in our mobile app Improving mobile recording reliability across real-world usage conditions Debugging issues related to backgrounding, flaky networks, upload failures, and app lifecycle events Improving audio upload flows, including retry logic, upload progress, and error recovery Working with backend APIs that support recording, transcription, summarization, and meeting-note generation Improving app performance, loading states, navigation, and user experience Testing mobile flows on real devices and simulators Reviewing, testing, and maintaining code before it is shipped to users Using AI coding tools such as Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, or similar tools as part of the software development workflow Qualifications We are looking for candidates who have: Current enrollment in, or recent completion of, a degree or diploma in computer science, software engineering, information systems, or a related technical field Experience building software through coursework, internships, open-source work, or personal projects Programming experience in JavaScript, TypeScript, Swift, Kotlin, Java, or a similar language Interest in mobile app development and product engineering Ability to debug technical problems carefully and communicate clearly Willingness to learn quickly, test assumptions, and ship working software Comfort using modern AI coding tools to understand codebases, implement features, and debug issues Preferred but not required: Experience with React Native or Expo Experience building iOS or Android apps Experience with mobile audio, recording, file uploads, or background tasks Experience with backend APIs, databases, or cloud services Experience with app performance, error logging, or product analytics Experience using LLMs or AI coding tools in a real software project Working arrangement This role is based in Singapore. The internship is hybrid, with some in-person work expected for team collaboration, product testing, and user feedback sessions. Any required in-person work will be discussed during the interview process. What you will learn During the internship, you will gain practical experience working on a production mobile app used by real customers. You will learn about mobile reliability, product engineering, audio recording flows, upload systems, AI-powered workflows, and engineering trade-offs in a startup environment. You will work directly with the founding team and receive regular feedback on your engineering work.
