Role Description
We are looking for a Product Development Engineering Intern to support the design, prototyping, and manufacturing of our microfluidic systems. This is a highly hands-on role suited for someone who enjoys building real hardware, solving practical engineering problems, and working across multiple disciplines in a startup environment.
Responsibilities
Design and improve mechanical components, fixtures, and assemblies using CAD software
Support development of jigs, tooling, and manufacturing aids
Operate and maintain 3D printers and rapid prototyping equipment
Build, assemble, and test prototype systems and devices
Support manufacturing and QC activities for microfluidic components and assemblies
Troubleshoot mechanical and system integration issues
Create technical drawings, documentation, and assembly procedures
Qualifications
Currently pursuing a diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related fields
Familiarity with CAD software such as SolidWorks, Fusion 360, or similar
Experience with 3D printing and rapid prototyping methods
Hands-on experience with prototyping, fabrication, or mechanical assembly
Strong problem-solving mindset and attention to detail
Comfortable working in a fast-paced startup environment
Good communication and documentation skills
Preferred Skills
Familiarity with microfluidic operations and systems
Experience with rapid prototyping tools such as 3D printers and laser cutters
Experience in system integration and coding in python/C++ is a plus
