About The Role The Product Development Manager will serve as Infinity Global's key product development representative in Asia, based in Singapore and working closely with manufacturing partners throughout the region. This role plays a critical part in supporting our Business Development teams across Europe and North America by ensuring that new products are successfully developed, sampled, validated, and launched into production in line with customer expectations. Working directly with suppliers across China, India, Vietnam, Cambodia, Indonesia, and other strategic sourcing markets, the Product Development Manager will lead product development activities from concept through production launch. The role requires a highly hands-on approach, including regular factory visits, supplier engagement, quality oversight, and production support to ensure successful project execution and consistent product quality from the very first production run. Travel Requirements Travel extensively throughout Asia (India, Vietnam, China, Cambodia, Indonesia, and other sourcing markets) spending significant working time (80%) at supplier locations to support development, troubleshooting, and production activities. Key Responsibilities Act as the primary link between Infinity Global's EU and US teams and manufacturing partners across Asia for new product development initiatives. Manage product development and sampling projects from initial concept through final approval, ensuring compliance with customer specifications and quality expectations. Partner closely with suppliers to communicate technical requirements, design intent, product construction details, and project timelines. Support and oversee pilot runs, production start-ups, and first production approvals to ensure manufacturing readiness and quality consistency. Conduct supplier visits, factory assessments, and capability audits to evaluate production processes, technical expertise, and quality systems. Lead root cause analysis (RCA) and corrective action initiatives (CAPA) related to development, sampling, or production issues. Collaborate with Quality Assurance teams to strengthen supplier quality processes and conduct ongoing product and manufacturing inspections. Provide regular project updates to stakeholders, ensuring visibility of development progress, risks, and production readiness. Identify, assess, and develop new supplier partners to support business growth and sourcing diversification strategies. Up to 80%travelling throughout Asia (India, Vietnam, China, Cambodia, Indonesia, and other sourcing markets) spending significant time at supplier locations to support development, troubleshooting, and production activities. Key Qualifications Strong product knowledge within the paper packaging industry is required; experience with textile products is highly desirable. Solid understanding of product development processes, sample management, manufacturing operations, and production launch activities. Proven ability to build effective supplier relationships and manage cross-functional communication. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify issues and implement practical solutions. Detail-oriented with experience monitoring quality, production performance, and key operational metrics. Comfortable working independently while coordinating with international teams across different cultures and time zones. Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Strong sense of urgency, accountability, and follow-through. Professional communication skills and the ability to influence internal and external stakeholders. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic global environment while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism. Requirements Minimum 5 years of experience in product development, sourcing, supplier management, or manufacturing within the paper packaging industry. Experience in packaging & luxury goods, or related industries is an advantage. Bachelor's degree in Packaging Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business, Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience. Demonstrated experience managing sample development, supplier communication, and production start-up activities. Fluency in written and spoken English and Mandarin Chinese is required. Additional language skills such as Hindi, Vietnamese, or other South-East Asian languages are considered a strong advantage. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify issues and implement effective solutions. Willingness and ability to travel extensively throughout Asia as part of regular job responsibilities. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across global teams and supplier networks. High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and commitment to follow-through. Proven ability to prioritise workload, manage competing deadlines, and drive projects to completion.
