About this internship
About Our Group
The Recording Media Operations Factory Quality team helps ensure consistent product quality by monitoring factory performance, reviewing materials that require further assessment, and supporting the follow-up of internal and customer quality matters. We collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, Supplier Quality Engineering, Applications, and teams at other sites.
As an intern, you will receive guidance from experienced Quality Engineers while contributing to meaningful projects involving data analysis, dashboards, automation, and quality monitoring. This is an opportunity to gain practical experience, explore new digital tools, and see how data supports decision-making in an advanced manufacturing environment.
About The Role - You Will
As a Quality Assurance Intern, you will work alongside Quality Engineers to explore ways of improving existing processes using tools such as artificial intelligence, dashboards, Microsoft Excel, and Python. Depending on your background and interests, you may:
Support the development and enhancement of dashboards used to monitor factory quality indicators.
Explore how data tools, artificial intelligence, or coding can help organize information and simplify repetitive tasks.
Assist in identifying unusual data patterns and presenting clear, actionable observations.
Contribute to the development of simple notification or tracking solutions that help engineers follow up on potential issues.
Participate in selected day-to-day quality activities to gain broader exposure to factory operations.
What Will You Learn and Embark on at the Start?
With Support From The Team, You Will
Learn the fundamentals of factory quality processes, including material review, finished-goods inspection, and quality data analysis.
Become familiar with key quality indicators, common data sources, and how the factory monitors quality performance.
Explore existing dashboards and monitoring systems and identify potential opportunities for improvement.
Learn from Quality Engineers and other cross-functional partners through practical assignments and regular guidance.
What You Would Ultimately Be Able to Be Proficient In?
By the end of the internship, you will have opportunities to:
Build practical skills in Microsoft Power BI, Microsoft Excel, data visualization, and quality reporting.
Gain exposure to quality management in an advanced manufacturing environment.
Apply your academic knowledge to interpret quality trends, inspection results, and engineering data.
Use artificial-intelligence-enabled tools responsibly to support reporting, summarize trends, and highlight potential data gaps or unusual patterns.
Develop practical digital solutions that support decision-making, reduce manual effort, and improve visibility of quality performance.
Strengthen your communication and collaboration skills by working with different engineering and business functions.
