    About this internship

    Acheron is a market maker holding a CASP license issued by the AFM in the Netherlands under MiCAr and with passporting in all EU countries. Acheron provides liquidity services to digital asset issuers from their most embryonic stages and throughout their adoption cycle. It is our belief that market inefficiency is one of the factors preventing digital assets from achieving mass adoption. You will work directly with the quant team to build and validate systematic trading strategies and risk models for crypto markets. This role is hands-on from day one; you'll be working with real market data, building backtesting infrastructure, and contributing to research that may inform live trading decisions. Responsibilities: Research, construct, and test systematic trading strategies using crypto market data (price, volume, order book, funding rates, on-chain data, etc.) Build and maintain backtesting infrastructure, with attention to common pitfalls such as lookahead bias, survivorship bias, and realistic transaction cost assumptions Build and evaluate quantitative risk models for the crypto asset universe Apply statistical methods to test the robustness and out-of-sample performance of proposed strategies Document methodology, assumptions, and limitations clearly for internal review Collaborate with traders and senior researchers to help translate research into deployable strategies Requirements: Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in a quantitative field (Financial Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Computer Science, or related) Strong proficiency in Python for data analysis, statistical modeling, and simulation Solid grounding in statistics and time-series analysis Prior exposure to quantitative finance, trading research, or relevant coursework/projects Comfortable working with messy, real-world market data and building reproducible research workflows Strong communication skills - ability to clearly explain assumptions, methodology, and limitations of your own work Genuine interest in crypto markets and market microstructure
