About this internship
Job Title: R&D Intern – Process & Applications Engineering (Water Treatment)
Internship Period:
August – December 2026
Location:
1 Cleantech Loop #03-05, Singapore 637141
Job Summary
The intern will support the Applications and Process Engineering team in developing, testing, and optimizing wastewater treatment solutions for municipal, industrial, and specialized clients.
This role provides hands-on exposure to physical, chemical, and advanced treatment technologies, including coagulation-flocculation, membrane systems (UF/NF/RO), oxidation processes (AOP/Fenton), and zero liquid discharge (ZLD).
The intern will be involved in lab-scale experiments, data analysis, and proposal preparation to deliver technically sound and sustainable treatment solutions that meet regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Process Support
Assist in characterization of wastewater samples (e.g., COD, TSS, pH, TOC, conductivity, and ions)
Support bench-scale and pilot-scale experiments for coagulation, oxidation, adsorption, and membrane filtration
Collect and interpret performance data to evaluate treatment efficiency
Design & Documentation
Prepare process flow diagrams (PFDs), mass balance calculations, and preliminary process designs
Draft technical reports, test summaries, and proposal inputs for client applications
Maintain experimental records, reagent inventories, and sample logbooks
Analytical & Laboratory Work
Operate laboratory instruments (e.g., TOC analyzer, IC, pH meter)
Support sample preparation for advanced analyses such as LC-MS/MS or ICP-OES (if applicable)
Requirements
Background in Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Chemistry, or related disciplines
Knowledge in mass transport, membrane separation, and inorganic/organic chemistry is an advantage
Experience in water chemistry or water testing is a plus
What We’re Looking For
Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and handle multiple tasks
Strong communication and presentation skills
Curious, proactive, and eager to learn
Strong interest in water and wastewater treatment
Comfortable working in a semi-autonomous environment
