This is where you will make a real impact and shape the future of defence across the spectrum of air, land, sea, space and cyberspace. 🚀 Radar Signal Processing Internship (with Potential Overseas Research in France) Radar is a physical surveillance technology that uses the transmission and reflection of electromagnetic waves to sense targets at range. Unlike optical sensors, radar systems are capable of both day and night operations, in challenging weather conditions and over great distances. They are an essential technology in a diverse and exciting array of time-critical applications, such as congested airspace monitoring, real-time imaging of natural disasters from space, and driverless automotive navigation. In this project, the intern will be guided by our radar team to explore novel methods of digital signal processing for radar applications. After familiarizing themselves with conventional radar methods, the intern will develop and propose new algorithms to improve upon the existing processing chain. These algorithms may be classical or machine learning-based, depending based on the intern’s interests. The intern may also get to explore basic radar hardware to implement and validate the performance of their algorithms (subject to research topic and opportunity). 🌍 International Experience As part of this internship, selected interns will have the unique opportunity to travel to and work in France, alongside French researchers under the auspices of “SONDRA”, a Singapore-France joint lab on electromagnetics and radar technology research.
