    About this internship

Note : This application is open to students who are pursuing credit bearing internship. Multiple internship roles available, refer to JDs & scope below. You will be assigned to a specific role after interview and selection. Role 1 - Robotics Test & Validation Intern Overview Support day-to-day testing and validation of Certis robotic systems and the fleet management platform. This is a hands-on role focused on executing test plans, operating robots, finding issues and helping engineers improve reliability before deployment. Responsibilities Run functional, regression, endurance and field tests on robots and fleet-management features. Set up robots, maps, missions, sensors and test environments under engineer guidance. Reproduce failures, collect logs and evidence, and write clear bug reports with steps to reproduce. Support deployment readiness checks, demonstrations and customer-site trials when required. Maintain test records, equipment status and basic operating procedures. Assist with simple test automation or scripts where the candidate has suitable programming skills. Requirements Currently pursuing a Diploma or Degree in robotics, mechatronics, engineering, IT or a related discipline. Careful, systematic and comfortable repeating tests until results are reliable. Basic understanding of robots, sensors, networking or software is useful but not mandatory. Able to work hands-on with physical equipment and communicate issues clearly. Role 2 - Robotics R&D Experiment & Data Intern Overview Support Robotics R&D experiments by preparing robots, running repeatable trials, collecting high-quality data and helping the team execute demonstrations. The role is operational and experimental: accuracy, discipline and willingness to do repeated data-collection work matter more than advanced research knowledge. Responsibilities Prepare robots, cameras, sensors, props and test spaces for experiments and demonstrations. Operate or supervise robots during scripted trials, teleoperation and data-collection sessions. Collect and organise video, image, sensor, robot-state and operator data using defined procedures. Repeat experiment scenarios consistently and record outcomes, failures and environmental conditions. Support demos, showcases and internal evaluations, including equipment setup and teardown. Assist with basic data checking, annotation or file organisation before datasets are used by engineers. Requirements Currently pursuing Degree in robotics, engineering, computing or a related discipline. Reliable, patient and able to follow experimental procedures precisely. Comfortable working with robots and physical equipment for extended test sessions. Role 3 - Robotics Systems Integration Intern Overview Support integration of robot platforms, payloads, sensors and external systems into the Certis robotics stack. Work is carried out under engineering supervision and is suitable for interns who enjoy combining software, electronics and physical systems. Responsibilities Assist with robot bring-up, configuration, sensor checks and payload installation. Test vendor SDKs/APIs and verify robot telemetry, commands, video and status information. Support integration of cameras, compute devices, networking equipment and simple I/O hardware. Run compatibility and interface tests between robots, RC2 and supporting services. Help diagnose integration failures using logs, network checks and controlled experiments. Create setup notes, wiring/interface records and repeatable test procedures. Requirements Currently pursuing robotics, mechatronics, electrical/electronic engineering or a related discipline. Comfortable with hands-on hardware and basic software troubleshooting. Basic Python, Linux, electronics, networking or microcontroller knowledge is advantageous. Good discipline around equipment safety, configuration and documentation. Role 4 - Fleet Management Software Intern Overview Work with the Engineering team on robot command and control, Certis' fleet-management and robot orchestration system. The internship combines software testing with small development tasks suitable for a junior engineer working under supervision. Responsibilities Test workflows such as robot status, missions, maps, alerts, video and fleet operations. Investigate issues using logs, browser tools and backend/service diagnostics. Fix small bugs and implement contained features under engineer review. Write simple scripts, test tools or automation to reduce repetitive engineering work. Support API/adapter testing between fleet management system and different robot platforms. Document test results, code changes and known limitations. Requirements Basic programming skills in Python, JavaScript/TypeScript or a similar language. Comfortable learning an existing codebase and debugging step by step. Basic understanding of web applications, APIs, networking or databases is advantageous.
