Introduction
Operations – Transaction Services is a strategic partner to our investment teams, delivering end-to-end investment support services that enable and advance our investment strategies.
With a strong focus on operational excellence, scalability, and digital innovation, Operations brings together a comprehensive suite of capabilities across deal advisory, valuation, trade and lifecycle operations, enterprise and core data management, data and analytics enablement, investment accounting, and sustainability reporting to drive business outcomes.
The Transaction Services team is responsible for managing and delivering end-to-end trade support and settlement activities efficiently, while maintaining strong standards of compliance, risk management, and operational control.
The team also manages relationships with external service providers, including banks, trading counterparties, custodians, and other trade support partners.
You will join the Transaction Services team to design, prototype, and roll out automation solutions using Robotic Process Automation, or RPA, and Generative AI. The objective is to digitize and streamline manual operational processes, improve efficiency, and enhance scalability across trade support activities.
This role offers exposure to both business operations and technology, and is ideal for someone who enjoys solving real-world problems using data, automation, and AI.
Responsibilities
As an RPA & GenAI Automation Intern, you will:
Develop a strong understanding of end-to-end business processes and requirements across trade support and related operational activities.
Research, design, prototype, and implement RPA and GenAI solutions to automate and optimize operational workflows.
Support ongoing trade capturing automation workflows focusing on parsing unstructured trade details into structure, system-readable formats.
Implement robust monitoring, logging, and alerting mechanisms to support reliable and continuous use of automation solutions across a variety of scenarios.
Prepare clear technical, process, and user documentation to support ongoing maintenance, handover, and knowledge sharing.
Collaborate closely with Operations and other stakeholders to gather requirements, validate solutions, support user testing, and drive adoption.
Apply Agile delivery practices, such as sprint planning, stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives, to plan and deliver automation initiatives effectively.
Incumbent will be able to gain the following competencies
Business knowledge in trade support, private markets cash flow operations, derivatives trade execution, and investment operations.
Practical experience in RPA, including solution design, development, testing, deployment, monitoring, and maintenance.
Exposure to applying GenAI to streamline, enhance, and scale operational processes.
Experience working with structured and unstructured data in an operational context.
Skills in process improvement, requirements elicitation, stakeholder engagement, documentation, and change management.
First-hand exposure to cross-functional collaboration between business operations and technology teams.
Requirements
Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a detail-oriented mindset.
Proficiency in Python, SQL, and VB.NET.
Good written and verbal communication skills.
Strong coordination and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and timelines.
Ability to work professionally and discreetly, especially when handling sensitive or confidential information.
A proactive attitude and willingness to learn new business processes, systems, and technologies.
Good to haves:
Comfortable working with data, search engines, databases, and automation tools.
Basic web scraping experience is a plus.
Experience using GenAI tools to automate or streamline tasks such as extraction, summarization, classification, or data validation.
Familiarity with investment operations, including trade capture, trade lifecycle events, settlement, funds processing, or reconciliation.
Exposure to RPA platforms, workflow automation tools, or low-code/no-code automation solutions.
Basic understanding of Agile delivery practices.
