Micron is seeking a Senior Manager, Electrical and Instrumentation & Controls (I&C) to lead a multi-disciplinary Global Facilities Engineering team supporting semiconductor manufacturing sites across the U.S. and Asia.
This role provides engineering system ownership and technical leadership across the full lifecycle of facilities systems—from design through construction, commissioning, and operations. The position focuses on driving global standardization, innovation, reliability, performance, and sustainability across Micron’s facilities network while building and developing a high-performing engineering organization.
Main Responsibilities
Lead and manage a multi-disciplinary Electrical & I&C engineering team, driving technical excellence and operational performance
Provide engineering system ownership and technical leadership across global facilities projects and sustaining operations
Oversee delivery of large-scale greenfield fab projects, ensuring alignment with scope, schedule, cost, and quality objectives
Review and validate electrical and I&C system designs to ensure compliance with standards, codes, and operational requirements
Provide expert guidance to resolve complex technical challenges across design, construction, and operations
Establish and implement best-in-class engineering practices to enhance reliability, efficiency, and sustainability
Drive engineering input into project planning, cost estimation, and execution strategies
Oversee consultant and contractor performance to ensure effective project delivery
Other Responsibilities
Build and develop a high-performing engineering team through recruitment, coaching, mentoring, and capability development
Define and track KPIs, aligning team priorities with global facilities strategies
Drive execution of global engineering initiatives and continuous improvement programs
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (facilities, manufacturing, procurement, IT, finance, legal) to achieve business objectives
Communicate strategy, project updates, and risks to senior leadership and stakeholders
Identify and mitigate technical, operational, and project risks proactively
Contribute to the development and deployment of global standards and Best Known Methods (BKMs)
Support global sustainability and capacity planning initiatives
AI Responsibilities
Leverage AI-assisted tools to enhance engineering analysis, decision-making, and operational efficiency
Identify opportunities to apply AI and data-driven insights to improve system performance and project outcomes
Promote adoption of AI-enabled best practices across the engineering team
Candidate Profile / Job Requirements
Minimum Required Qualifications / Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Chemical, Industrial Engineering, or related discipline
Minimum 15–20 years of experience in semiconductor and/or facilities engineering, including leadership experience
Strong expertise in electrical and I&C systems within semiconductor or industrial facilities
Proven experience supporting full project lifecycle (design, construction, commissioning, operations)
Experience in managing large-scale, complex engineering projects and teams
Ability to work effectively across global, multicultural environments
Willingness to travel extensively (up to 50–60%)
Must Have Technical Skills
Electrical and instrumentation & control systems engineering expertise
Engineering design review, system optimization, and compliance validation
Project execution and project controls (cost, schedule, risk management)
Technical problem-solving and root cause analysis
Knowledge of semiconductor or advanced manufacturing facilities systems
Must Have Soft Skills
Strong leadership and team development capabilities
Strategic thinking and decision-making skills
Excellent communication and stakeholder management
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a complex global environment
Strong collaboration and influencing skills
AI Requirements
Ability to apply digital fluency and AI tools effectively to support engineering analysis, planning, and decision-making
Preferred Skills / Experience
Experience leading global or regional engineering teams
Experience in greenfield fab design and construction projects
Professional engineering certification or membership
Strong understanding of sustainability practices and digitalization in facilities engineering
Experience driving global standardization and continuous improvement initiatives
