Solution Engineer — Connect BU
MetaComp · Connect BU · Technical Solution Design & Integration Delivery
Position Overview
The Solution Engineer (SE) is the primary technical role within MetaComp's Connect BU. Connect exists to systematically package and deliver MetaComp's full product and service suite — spanning payment infrastructure, digital asset capabilities, and multi-BU solutions — through structured API and Agentic integration for enterprise, PSP, and institutional clients.
The SE is the definitive technical interface between clients and MetaComp's Product, Technology, Operations, and Commercial teams. The role is responsible for end-to-end solution design, API integration management, production deployment, and post-launch technical support. Beyond individual client delivery, the SE plays an active role building scalable solution templates, integration playbooks, and reusable technical assets that raise the overall capability and efficiency of the Connect BU.
Key Responsibilities
Solution Design & Technical Scoping
Work closely with Account Managers to understand clients' business models, use cases, system architecture, payment flows, fund flows, and technical requirements.
Design end-to-end client solutions covering accounts, payment products, APIs, transaction flows, fund flows, information flows, settlement, and reconciliation — drawing on MetaComp's full multi-BU product suite.
Evaluate solution feasibility, identify integration dependencies, flag risks, and propose alternatives where applicable.
Deliver technical presentations, product demonstrations, integration workshops, and solution walkthroughs for clients.
Integration & Delivery Management
Prepare solution proposals, process flows, technical integration plans, API field mappings, test plans, and production launch plans.
Guide clients through sandbox configuration, API integration, system testing, user acceptance testing (UAT), and production deployment.
Manage technical project timelines, milestones, dependencies, risks, and launch-readiness criteria.
Coordinate with Product, Technology, Operations, Compliance, and Onboarding teams to resolve integration dependencies and delivery blockers.
API & Technical Enablement
Explain API capabilities, webhooks, authentication methods, transaction status flows, error handling, system configurations, and operational requirements to clients.
Support the integration of RESTful APIs, Agentic interfaces, and automation workflows for technically complex enterprise and institutional clients.
Troubleshoot integration and production issues by analysing API requests, responses, logs, webhooks, transaction records, and system configurations.
Identify whether issues originate from client implementation, configuration, product functionality, operational processes, or infrastructure, and coordinate resolution.
Post-Launch Support & Optimisation
Support clients with transaction-status analysis, reconciliation, exception handling, and production incident management.
Monitor post-launch solution performance and work with internal teams and clients to improve stability, throughput, and operational efficiency.
Provide structured post-launch technical support, ensuring clients can operate and scale on MetaComp's infrastructure independently.
Knowledge Building & Solution Standardisation
Develop and maintain standard solution templates, integration guides, API checklists, implementation playbooks, FAQs, and troubleshooting documentation.
Collect recurring technical requirements and translate them into structured product feedback and enhancement recommendations.
Build reusable integration accelerators, configuration blueprints, and test suites that reduce time-to-launch for future clients.
Provide technical training, onboarding support, and product knowledge transfer to internal AM and RM teams.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related discipline.
Minimum five years of relevant experience at a leading PSP, payment institution, acquirer, cross-border payment provider, or FinTech company — preferably as a Solution Engineer, Technical Account Manager, Pre-sales Engineer, or Integration Engineer.
Strong understanding of payment systems, merchant integration, transaction processing, settlement, reconciliation, and fund-flow management.
Solid knowledge of RESTful APIs, webhooks, JSON, authentication mechanisms, error codes, log analysis, and common system integration patterns.
Familiarity with digital asset payment infrastructure, blockchain transaction flows, or Web3-native integration patterns is a strong advantage.
Exposure to Agentic or AI-assisted workflow automation is a plus.
Proven ability to independently manage requirements analysis, solution design, API integration, testing, and production deployment for large enterprise or institutional clients.
Experience troubleshooting payment issues, analysing transaction statuses, managing reconciliation exceptions, and resolving production incidents.
Strong documentation, presentation, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
Able to manage multiple concurrent implementation projects in a fast-paced, build-phase environment.
Professional proficiency in English; bilingual English/Chinese strongly preferred.
