Student Support Officer (Temporary 11-month contract)

What The Role Is This is a temporary role on 11-month contract. What You Will Be Working On Provide individualised support to students in managing challenging behaviours in school, including support management for meltdowns Support the Special Educational Needs (SEN) team to implement behaviour interventions and learning support plans for students with SEN in collaboration with academic team and other stakeholders Maintain records of student progress and interventions implemented Assist with organising, implementing, and facilitating training and advocacy programmes for students with SEN Partner with SEN team, academic team and other stakeholders to create a supportive environment conducive to the success of students with SEN Assist in User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for the student system's (STAR) Case Management module What We Are Looking For Passion and disposition to care for and work with students with SEN Relevant qualifications in Inclusive and Special Education, Education, Psychology, Applied or Educational Psychology, Counselling and/or relevant areas preferred At least 2 years of experience supporting students with SEN, preferably in an educational or social service sector setting preferred Resourceful and good problem-solving skills. Demonstrated ability to work with individuals from diverse backgrounds, and collaboratively with different stakeholders in student support Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as in a team setting Excellent interpersonal communication (both oral and written) and administrative skills IT proficiency in data management, with Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint Experience in facilitating workshop and events management would be an advantage
