    About this internship

VALSEA is building speech intelligence infrastructure for Asia. Internally, we are also building VALSEA OS: an AI-powered operating system connecting tasks, meetings, CRM, sales, engineering, knowledge and company workflows. We are looking for an exceptional Automation & AI Engineering Intern to build it with us. This is not a conventional internship. You will not spend your time fixing small tickets or shadowing senior engineers. You will design and ship production workflows that the entire company uses every day. We are particularly interested in hackathon winners, fast builders and unusually strong technical generalists who are excellent at API integrations, workflow orchestration and turning ambiguous operational problems into working systems. What You Will Build You will help build VALSEA OS across workflows such as: Converting Slack and Telegram messages into assigned tasks Extracting action items from Fathom meeting transcripts Generating meeting agendas before calls Syncing meetings, contacts and opportunities into HubSpot Automating lead research, outreach and follow-ups Connecting GitHub activity to product and deployment records Building approval workflows for AI-generated actions Creating company-wide dashboards, alerts and daily digests Building an AI copilot that can answer questions across company data Connecting people, projects, meetings, customers and decisions into one company graph A typical workflow may look like: Slack message → webhook → identity resolution → AI extraction → duplicate check → human approval → task creation → owner notification → audit log You will own workflows from idea to production. What You Will Do Design and implement multi-step automations across internal tools Integrate APIs including Slack, Telegram, HubSpot, Google Workspace, GitHub, Fathom and Supabase Build reliable workflows using n8n, serverless functions and custom backend services Use LLMs for classification, extraction, routing, summarisation and recommendations Build human-in-the-loop approval systems for important AI actions Design clean data models for tasks, meetings, projects, users and CRM objects Create webhook handlers, scheduled jobs and event-driven workflows Implement retries, logging, idempotency and error recovery Build lightweight internal interfaces in Next.js Work directly with the founder and engineering team Ship working systems quickly and improve them based on internal usage What We Are Looking For You are likely a strong fit if you: Have won or placed highly in hackathons, coding competitions or technical challenges Can build a working product in hours or days, not months Are excellent at reading API documentation and connecting unfamiliar systems Understand webhooks, REST APIs, OAuth, authentication and asynchronous workflows Can work across frontend, backend, databases and infrastructure Have built AI agents, internal tools, workflow automations or developer products Can turn unclear business requirements into a practical technical design Debug systematically rather than relying on trial and error Care about reliability, not just impressive demos Communicate clearly and take full ownership of outcomes We care much more about evidence of exceptional ability than credentials, university, age or years of experience. Technical Skills Strong experience with several of the following: TypeScript or Python Node.js Next.js and React Supabase or PostgreSQL n8n, Temporal, Make or similar orchestration tools REST APIs and webhooks OAuth 2.0 Slack and Telegram APIs HubSpot APIs GitHub APIs Google Workspace APIs LLM APIs and structured outputs Vector search and retrieval Vercel, AWS or serverless infrastructure Queueing, retries and background jobs You do not need to know every tool already. You must be able to learn unfamiliar systems extremely quickly. What Exceptional Looks Like We are not looking for someone who waits for perfectly written specifications. We are looking for someone who can receive a problem such as: “Important tasks are getting lost across Slack, Telegram and meetings.” And independently: Map the workflow Identify the relevant APIs Design the data model Build the integration Add AI extraction Handle failures and duplicates Ship a usable interface Test it with the team Improve it from feedback The ideal candidate combines the speed of a hackathon builder with the discipline of a production engineer. Example first-month projects During your first month, you may ship: Slack message-to-task workflow Telegram message-to-task workflow Fathom transcript-to-action-item pipeline Team identity mapping across internal platforms Daily personalised task digest AI approval inbox HubSpot meeting and deal recommendation workflow Central automation error dashboard How We Work VALSEA operates with: High ownership Fast execution Direct communication Strong technical curiosity High standards Low bureaucracy A bias toward shipping Character over credentials Our core values are Character, Excellence and Impact, supported by trust, humility and ownership. What You Will Gain Direct ownership of company-critical systems Close exposure to product, engineering, sales and operations Experience building production AI workflows A portfolio of systems used by a real startup team Direct collaboration with the founder The opportunity to shape how VALSEA operates as it grows Potential progression into a full-time engineering role We are looking for rare builders: people who can understand complex systems quickly, integrate almost anything and turn messy company operations into elegant automated workflows.
