Trust & Safety Policy Specialist (contract)

Our client is a leading global technology company focused on building trusted digital products and services. They are looking for an experienced Policy Specialist to develop, implement, and optimize product policies while collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders to enhance user trust, regulatory compliance, and operational excellence. This is a contract hire ending on 6 Sep 2027. Responsibilities Develop, launch, and implement product policies and standards across multiple business areas. Lead end-to-end policy initiatives and cross-functional projects from planning through execution. Establish and maintain global product policies with a strong understanding of regional regulations, local culture, and community expectations. Partner with internal stakeholders and external vendors to develop, review, and implement policy frameworks across various products. Conduct investigations and respond to external inquiries related to policy enforcement and user-related issues. Identify emerging policy risks, assess business and user impact, and recommend effective mitigation strategies. Analyze policy enforcement operations to identify opportunities for improving review quality, operational efficiency, and policy effectiveness. Use data analytics and modelling to drive evidence-based policy decisions and improve enforcement performance. Requirements 5-8 years of experience in a trust & safety compliance or policy review environment. Proficiency in English is required, along with business-level Hindi, as the role involves regular, direct communication with Hindi-speaking external partners, vendors, and operational stakeholders in India. These interactions, which include policy implementation, investigations, and issue resolution, are conducted primarily in Hindi as part of the role's responsibilities. Strong understanding of policy development, implementation, and governance. Experience working with regulatory requirements and interpreting policy frameworks. Advanced data analytics and modelling skills with the ability to generate actionable insights. Experience managing high-priority issues and crisis situations. Strong understanding of community standards, online safety, and user trust principles.
