Introduction
We are seeking a
Supplier Onboarding & Source-to-Contract (S2C) Intern
to support procurement operations while driving
workflow transformation
,
process automation
, and
AI-enabled improvements
across supplier onboarding and S2C activities. This internship provides hands-on exposure to procurement processes and the opportunity to deliver tangible enhancements to efficiency, cycle time, and stakeholder experience.
The ideal candidate is structured, detail-oriented, and motivated by improving how work gets done—combining process discipline with an interest in automation and applied AI.
Responsibilities
Supplier Onboarding & Supplier Lifecycle Support
Support end-to-end
supplier onboarding
and
maintenance (updates, data cleansing)
, including documentation collection, data validation, and coordination of internal approvals.
Liaise with suppliers and internal stakeholders to ensure onboarding requirements are clearly communicated and completed within agreed timelines.
Maintain accurate trackers and status reporting; follow up on outstanding actions to minimise delays.
Support adherence to internal policies and relevant compliance requirements (e.g., governance and documentation standards).
Identify recurring onboarding issues and propose improvements to reduce rework and improve turnaround time.
Source-to-Contract (S2C) Support
Assist with sourcing activities, including requirements collation, supplier research, and preparation of RFx documentation (e.g., RFQ/RFP).
Support collation and comparison of supplier responses, including basic commercial analysis and evaluation coordination.
Help prepare sourcing documentation such as scope summaries, evaluation materials, and approval packs.
Provide support for contract workflows, including coordination of reviews, tracking approvals, and ensuring documentation is properly filed and accessible.
Maintain sourcing and contracting records in relevant systems and repositories with a high degree of accuracy.
Workflow Transformation, Automation & AI Enablement (Core Expectations)
Map existing onboarding and S2C workflows (e.g., intake → due diligence → setup → RFx → award → contracting) to identify bottlenecks, handoffs, and control gaps.
Design and implement
process enhancements
(e.g., standardised checklists, templates, SLAs, governance gates) to improve consistency and cycle time.
Identify and pilot
automation opportunities
, such as:
automating status updates and reminders
digitising forms and approvals
reducing manual data entry and duplicate checks
Explore and apply
AI use cases
to improve productivity and quality, such as:
automated document classification and completeness checks
extraction of key fields from supplier documents (e.g., business profiles, declarations)
summarisation of RFx responses and issue flagging for review
drafting first-pass communications (internally reviewed before use)
Produce clear documentation of the “to-be” process, including controls, user steps, and change implications; support user adoption through concise guides.
Incumbent will be able to gain the following competencies

Requirements
Pursuing undergraduate degree in
Business, Supply Chain, Finance, Economics, Operations, Analytics, Computer Science/Information Systems
, or related disciplines.
Strong attention to detail and ability to work accurately with structured documentation and process requirements.
Strong stakeholder management and communication skills; able to engage professionally with external suppliers and internal teams.
Proficiency in
Microsoft Excel
(or Google Sheets), including basic formulas, data organisation, and analysis.
Demonstrated interest in
process improvement
and operational excellence (coursework/projects acceptable).
Preferred Attributes
Familiarity with workflow automation or low-code tools (e.g., UiPath, Power Automate, Power Apps, ServiceNow, Jira/Confluence, SharePoint forms) is an advantage.
Exposure to data visualisation tools (e.g., Power BI/Tableau) and/or process mapping tools (e.g., Visio/Miro).
Prior experience with procurement tools (e.g., Ariba, Coupa, Ivalua) is a plus.
Practical understanding of responsible AI use (e.g., validation, governance, data handling) and comfort working with AI tools under organisational guidelines.
