Lab Assistant/Intern

As a Laboratory Assistant – Flavour R&D, you will play an important role in supporting our Flavourists and R&D team in the creation of flavour samples for leading food and beverage products. This is a hands-on laboratory position that offers practical exposure to flavour formulation, raw materials, laboratory techniques and product development. This role is well suited for candidates who enjoy working with their hands, have an interest in food and beverages, and want to build a technical career within the flavour industry. What You’ll Do: Flavour Sample Preparation • Accurately weigh and compound flavour samples according to approved formulas and instructions. • Prepare samples within required timelines while maintaining high accuracy and consistency. • Verify raw materials, batch numbers and quantities before compounding. • Perform basic quality checks such as appearance, colour and physical condition where required. Laboratory & Technical Support • Support Flavourists and R&D team members in day-to-day laboratory activities and sample preparation. • Handle laboratory equipment, glassware and apparatus safely and correctly. • Clean and maintain laboratory equipment and ensure workstations are always ready for use. • Follow laboratory SOPs, safety requirements and quality standards. Raw Material & Inventory Management • Monitor and maintain appropriate inventory levels of flavour materials and laboratory supplies. • Support material replenishment and coordinate collection of materials from the warehouse or production area. • Ensure flavour materials are correctly labelled and stored under the required temperature and storage conditions. • Maintain accurate records of materials and samples. Laboratory Environment • Maintain high standards of housekeeping, cleanliness and workplace safety. • Ensure good laboratory practices are followed at all times. • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives within the laboratory. • Perform other duties related to laboratory and R&D activities as assigned.
